Kingston Area Birds 28 October 2023 – 3 November 2023

Kingston Field Naturalists (KFN) maintain records in a 50km radius of
MacDonald Park, Kingston. Birders using eBird are encouraged to share their
sightings with ‘Kingston FN’. Alternatively, please email  records directly
to me – contact details below. Please note that some sightings may require
review and remain unconfirmed unless stated otherwise. Species in bold type
require completion of a rare bird report available on the KFN website or
directly from me. If indicated, an OBRC report may be required instead (

may be replaced by asterisks.

Overview:

As we are well into the fall season we see a few of our summer birds still
lingering as we have had some beautiful fall weather.  With the cooler
weather, and even a little snow, we are seeing an influx of our winter
finches, sparrows and waterfowl.  It is shaping up to be a great winter
season.  I may have overdone the list last week so I will be a little more
selective on the inclusions.  The Fall Roundup runs from Friday Nov.
3-Sunday Nov. 5, so the counts from the round up will be split over this
week and next weeks reports.
