Dear Tacoma EnviroNews Community ... We need your help!
As many of you know, the City of Tacoma is in the final stages of developing a new Environmental Action Plan (EAP)http://bit.ly/1Q57nlR. The EAP will update the 2008 Climate Action Planhttps://www.cityoftacoma.org/government/city_departments/environmentalservices/office_of_environmental_policy_and_sustainability/climate_action_plan and set the City's agenda of environmental actions for the next five years. Depending on which actions are prioritized and implemented, the plan could have lasting impacts for Tacoma's local environment and the global climate.
Now we need to hear from the community about which actions are most important to you, your families, your friends, and your neighbors. Which ones would have the most positive impacts on our air, water, parks, and neighborhoods? Which ones give us "the most bang for our buck"? And how can we prepare ourselves for the future in Tacoma?
A few of you turned out to our public meeting on December 7. However, we need to hear from many, many more people! As individuals who keep up with environmental happenings in Tacoma, you can help us gather this important feedback.
First, you can complete the survey<http://bit.ly/1Q57nlR> yourself. (It takes about 10 minutes.) If each one of you participates, we will receive a lot of quality input!
Second, you can utilize your networks (email, social media, word-of-mouth) to share the survey widely. The best feedback will involve individuals from all backgrounds, ages, and areas of Tacoma (i.e., the general public), so think outside the box!
This is a rare opportunity to have your say and guide the City's actions. You'll find the survey that is open until Dec 31 at http://tacomaeap.publicmeeting.info/
Sincerely,
Kristin Lynett
