The City of Tacoma's Environmental Services Department is seeking your feedback on the 2025 Stormwater Management Program (SWMP) Planhttps://www.cityoftacoma.org/government/city_departments/environmentalservices/surface_water/stormwater_management_program, which outlines our strategy for managing stormwater and protecting local waterways. As part of the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Phase I Municipal Stormwater Permit, we update this plan annually and invite public participation to help shape our approach.
We want to hear from you! Your input will help us strengthen our stormwater management efforts and improve public education around pollution prevention.
Step 1: Review the 2025 Stormwater Management Program (SWMP) Planhttps://www.cityoftacoma.org/government/city_departments/environmentalservices/surface_water/stormwater_management_program
Step 2: Share Your Thoughts:
- What pollution prevention topics should the City focus on for public education?
- What pollution issues do you notice in Tacoma that could be addressed through outreach? (Examples: litter, pet waste disposal, over-fertilization, yard waste in streets, runoff from private property, etc.)
- How can Environmental Services communicate most effectively with the public?
- Would you like more information on the City's efforts to support greener, cleaner neighborhoods? How would you like that information delivered?
Step 3: Submit Your Comments
To ensure your feedback is considered in the final draft, please send your comments by March 25, 2025, to swnpdespermits@cityoftacoma.orgmailto:swnpdespermits@cityoftacoma.org.
