Note: It appears that this was Fox Sparrow Day here in CT.

03/13/14 - Westport, Burying Hill Beach in the creek -- Red-necked
Grebe continues.
Westport, Sherwood Island State Park -- 1 American Pipit on the
airplane field, a record breaking 23 Fox Sparrows on the west side of
the park, 8 in the pine grove (singing as well), 11 in the NW corner
that is off limits to the public, and 4 in the west end platform area
with a Brown Thrasher as well. I checked the east end of the park and
had zero Fox Sparrows.

03/13/14 - East Hartford, yard -- At least 8 RUSTY BLACKBIRDS under my
back yard feeders.

03/13/14 - Easton, Aspetuck Park -- 3 Fox Sparrows at 11:30 AM.

03/13/14 - Enfield, Barnes Boat Ramp -- Keith found the Red-necked
Grebe fairly close to shore.

03/13/14 - Windsor Locks -- A Snowy Owl seen Wednesday a on a light
pole at Bradley Airport was submitted to eBird. There's a photo. One
of just a few inland in CT during this irruption.

03/13/14 - Milford, Mondo Ponds -- 1:00 PM; 2 Redhead (possibly 3--a
2nd hen perhaps).  Fox Sparrow too.

feeding in a mixed flockĀ on the roadside near the entrance booths.
Gulf (btw Charles Island and Point Lookout) -- 2:55 PM; 2 Northern
Gannet.

03/13/14 - Colchester, yard -- between 7 and 8:30 AM; 2 Fox Sparrows,
one Brown Creeper and 1 Rusty Blackbird.

afternoon.

03/13/14 - Milford, Milford Point -- 1 Snowy Owl out on sandbars.
Flock of 8 White Phase Snow Geese out in the Marsh. The Snow Geese
were better seen from the Wheeler Marsh Boat Ramp area.

large window , 4 FOX SPARROWS.  I have had 2 or 3 just about every day
during this nice winter we are having.

Adding to the reports of Fox Sparrows, I had three at my feeders
around 12:30 today.

around at the large field near the intersection of Rte 14 & Back Rd.

03/13/14 - Washington, the Macricostas Preserve of the Steep Rock
Association -- Spring has officially arrived in the Northwest corner.
There were at least two American Woodcock peenting and doing their
aerial display around 7:15 PM.
