From Mike Resch:
02/01/14 - Southbury -- 11 AM;  Mew Gull continues, seen in field
along River Rd.  Note that the gull flock was present when we arrived
at 9:45, mostly in the field adjacent to River Road, with some feeding
up the hill in and around the buildings, and a few on the water in the
river.  At least one immature Bald Eagle game by a couple times which
kept the flock on its toes.

From Dan Rottino and family:
02/01/14 - Southbury, River Rd at Purchase Brook intersection -- 10:30
AM; 1 MEW GULL with approximately 500 ring-billed gulls.  The bird was
seen with several other birders for a few brief moments, in the lower
part of the field along River Rd.  Then it flew behind and to the left
of the barn landing again, at which point I lost sight of it
forevermore.  We tried in vain to relocate it until 1:30.

From Donna Caporaso:
02/01/14 - Stratford, Long Beach -- 4 Snowy Owls; 1 in marshes
opposite parking lot, 3 between Long Beach West and Pleasure Beach
(down by the round concession stand!)  Also at Long Beach, 2nd Cycle
Iceland Gull, 1 Peregrine Falcon perched on a tree for quite a while,
5 Snow Buntings.

From Himmelmans and Kobaks:
02/01/14 - Old Saybrook, North Cove Road -- (30?) SNOW BUNTINGS in
spruce, power lines, and grass.
Madison, Hammonasset State Park -- 1 LAPLAND LONGSPUR with flock of
SNOW BUNTINGS. SNOWY OWL on a post in Clinton Harbor.

From Paul Cianfaglione:
02/01/14 - Enfield, Saint Patrick Cemetery (Pleasant Street) -- 1
drake BARROW'S GOLDENEYE.

From Tina Green:
02/01/14 - Southport, Harbor Rd. Bridge -- Barnacle Goose continues
(with Canada Goose flock) on the water.

From Paul Cashman:
02/01/14 - Milford, Silver Sands State Park -- Eastern Meadowlark.

From Phil Rusch:
02/01/14 - New London to Orient Point (LI) ferry -- 9:15 AM ferry from
NL to OP and back. The ride over to Orient was disappointing with only
1 Bonepart's Gull. The return trip, in CT waters there were 5
Razorbills and 2 more Bonepart's Gulls.  (A Thick-billed Murre was way
inside New York waters, but could easily stray into CT waters.)

From John Oshlick:
02/01/14 - Westhaven Boat Ramp -- Male and Female Redhead present.
Look North toward the West River.

From Patrick and Gia Comins:
02/01/14 - Windsor, Windsor Landfill -- 3 First cycle Glaucous Gulls
and a 4th cycle Iceland Gull.  Oh and a somewhat ratty looking 2nd
cycle Nelson's Gull.
Enfield, St Patrick's Cemetery -- Barrow's Goldeneye continues.

From Chuck Imbergamo:
02/01/14 - Madison, Hammonasset State Park -- Northern Pintail drake
in the first marsh on the right near the park entrance.

From Scott Besade:
02/01/14 - New London, Bentley Creek -- Lesser Scaup (9 drake, 4 hen).

From John and Alex La Force:
02/01/14 - Old Saybrook,  cove north of Fenwick -- afternoon; 3
Redhead.

From Doug Beach:
01/31/14 - Simsbury/Bloomfield town line, on Talcott Mountain; just
south of the Tariffville section of Simsbury -- Two Black Vultures.
Simsbury --  three Northern Pintail in an area of open water on the
Farmington River; just north of the model airplane field on Nod Road.
