Just a quick note to let everyone know that the original, 30 ton, teak
hulled, motor yacht "Passagemaker" as designed and built by Robert Beebe in
1963 is alive and well and currently on a one year circumnavigation of the
Caribbean.
I had the good fortune to purchase her from Charlie Baker in 1998 and after
a year of hard work she is proving a very dependable live aboard.
Drop me an e-mail at quentrall@gmail.com if you would like more news of her
or if you can help me fill in some of her history such as voyages she made,
previous owners etc.
Have a great day............ Peter Quentrall-Thomas
Great to hear from you, Peter!
Where is the old girl currently? What's your next destination?

Hi Georgs,
We are currently off the coast of Honduras having just left the Rio Dulce.
We do a monthly Passagemaker newsletter and the August issue is attached.
We are now headed for the Bay Islands and then down to Nicaragua, Costa
Rica, Panama, Columbia and Venezuela to get back to Trinidad & Tobago where
I live in time for Christmas.
Next year we plan to spend a year taking Passagemaker down to Rio de Janeiro
via the Orinoco, Essequibo and Amazon and if all goes well we will round the
Horn in December 2012.
We even have a 'dream" of taking her back to Singapore, her birthplace, for
her 50th birthday in 2013.
Incidentally, despite having spent over 6 years "up on the hard",
Passagemaker is performing beautifully. She hardly leaks at all, big seas
don't worry her, the flopper stoppers perform beautifully and she is the
centre of attraction everywhere she goes (and she loves it :-))
I know you tried hard to make sure she was preserved and we really consider
ourselves as the interim "trustees" rather than the owners. She is
definitely going to see her 50th birthday. who knows she may make 100 yet!
Thanks for all the work you did to keep her memory 'alive". It was thanks to
your web site that I found her.
