: I suggest you fix this problem before leaving. Many years ago we had a
similar problem with our port shaft while waiting for a lock at Oswego, NY.
I called Oswego Marine and they sent a mechanic out. He was very good and
came  with all the necessary tools and chain. Within an hour and a half he had
the  shaft back in place and replaced several nuts and bolts at the
coupler. All  done with the boat in the water.

We got underway and never had this problem again.

I really suggest you get this fixed before leaving on your 10 mile  trip.
