Folks,
I just met with Shawn Gillis at Absolute and he told me the Salida City Council is voting on the Comprehensive Plan tomorrow evening at 6 PM.
This is the culmination of a 5-year process which provides vision and direction for our community, inc;luding bike paths, bridges, and other bike-friendly enhancements.
There will be agroup of nay-sayers there who are qworking hard to derail the plan. We need to be there to show our support.
Shawn says we are #2 on the agenda, so you can count on being out of there reasonably quickly.
Please invite like-minded people and make every effort to be there.
Thanks,
Harry Brull

All,
I can't tell you how important your support will be for Council. As Harry
mentioned, there is a group of folks who are against everything (IMHO)
involving recreation, tourism, and economic growth. They consistently
attend council meetings and are well-organized. I don't know how strongly
they will speak out against this, but it would be great to see some
positive support to counteract it if you can offer it. There are two
Council members who are fairly consistently anti-bicycle. It would be good
if they could see how important it is to the community.
