Is there a tool I can use to drill out the wooden plugs without harming the
screw heads or the parent wood?

Are these the bungs that are say over the screws on a teak deck?
If so I simply screw a small Robertson head screw into the center of them.
The bung pops out or breaks in half leaving the plank and screw under
untouched. However this is only good if clue was not used under. Some for
what ever reason feel they need to secure the bung down. I find the varnish
or whatever coating you use over keeps them water tight.
Give it a try on a few.

Frank and I are considering the Nordic Tug 26 as a floating vacation
home for extended coastal cruising (think ICW to the St. Lawrence
Seaway) and down through the Caribbean.
However, we've yet to see one in person. Specifically, when we look on
YachtWorld, forward of the navigation console is a head/shower
combination, directly across from a locker. I'm wondering how large that
locker is -- could it be turned into a separate shower stall?
Also, below the bunks forward, what's there? Drawers? Storage?
Accessible?
And, we've seen the off-set bunk (looked quite comfy) along with the
older models with their vee-berths. If you've had/slept in an offset
bunk, how was it? In particular I'm wondering if it feels at anchor
"off-balance" by sleeping on an angle?
How's ventilation forward at anchor?
What would you change?
Others we are considering include the OuteReef (pulled from
market/probably will be relisted this fall) and Brandlmeyer, Hercules
and Alaskan24.
Thank you for any advice you may be able to offer. If you've a digital
camera and a willingness to take pictures, please send any/all for the
Nordic26 or comparable, and small. The Marine Trader 29 is too
large/heavy, plus she's got a fly bridge. Low profile is preferred.
We've also seen the Monk's and though lovely for some, they are not on
our list of possibles.
Thank you again.
