My Trace has developed a problem between the neutral wire and ground
as I can measure 45 VAC and 7 mils of current. I disconnected the
outgoing AC load wires and the incoming AC load wires at the unit,
turned the it on to invert and can read the same 45 VAC as
mentioned. Seems something inside the big white box is leaking to
the AC neutral. Has anybody experienced this before? Of course we
are in Ketchikan, AK w/ marginal internet so searching for info is
laborious as well as slow. I did a quick check of the ground/zinc
protection and the DC voltages appear to be OK.
So what does the list think?

Tom, sorry to say, in the 20+ years I've had the same model, I've never seen
that problem and the Owners Manual does not describe it. I doubt that
anyone except an experienced Trace repair guy with a large cache of
replacement cards and parts can fix it. Based on everything I've read here
about the abysmal service that Xantrex provides, I'd say it's well worth it
to try to find someone who can repair your U2512SW. They may even be able
to diagnose the problem given the symptoms you're seeing. But beware,
Trace-experienced repair folks are a dying breed and very hard to locate. I
searched the net once and found all kinds of repair sites claiming
experience with Trace gear, but most were now defunct shops who hadn't even
bothered to shut down their web-sites!

Tom,
What made you want to measure the voltage between the ground and neutral in
the first place? Was there some performance problem with the inverter?
Was there a load on the unit when the first voltage and current measurement
was made? If the unit is in search mode (looking for a load to power)
things are a bit difficult to interpret.
