Tyvek sells material for custom boat covers that is lightweight, durable,
and-most importantly--breathes, allowing moisture to escape. It is,
according to Tyvek, easy to sew and custom-fit, and the work can be done by
any competent canvas custom-boat-cover company.
Would appreciate comments from anyone with first-hand knowledge of Tyvek
winter boat covers--positive and/or negative. Thanks.

I bought a tyvek cover for my 19' trailerable cuddy early this summer.
It was relatively inexpensive, light and very easy to manage. After
about 3 months outside, all day every day, the tyvek lost it's
tenacious properties and migrated to tissue paper. I returned it for a
full refund - customer service said, "They do that sometimes."
Tyvek would be a great cover for a boat that was being stored inside,
but if your boat is outside in the elements like mine, I'd suggest
something else. Although I've had good luck with canvas, I decided to
try 'Sharkskin' for the tyvek replacement; same warranty as Sunbrella,
but cheaper. They're all breathable.
