To: Northstar Newfoundland Club <newflink@nsnewf.org>I would highly recommend the Mars double wide coat king. I got the 18 blade on amazon and absolutely love it! Here is a link: http://www.marscoatking.com/
if anyone would like to check it out as well.

Yesterday a number of people asked about two of the grooming tools I was using for getting undercoat out during shedding season, as well as mat removal.
Here are a couple of sources:
Petedge (https://www.petedge.com )has two tools very similar to the Oliver Slant Comb that I used (you can also find the Oliver comb on eBay every now and then). I think the first one is the closest to what I was using.
and several of these are good for getting at mats:
Another good source is Cherrybrook: (http://1omt.net/www.cherrybrook.com/ )
They have a page with “rakes and mat combs” http://www.cherrybrook.com/index.cfm/a/catalog.catshow/catid/213/cname/Rakes_and_Mat_Combs

I found out about it while reading varuous blogs about grooming Newfs
written by show dog owners and other groomers online. every one that I read
highly recommended this one and this size. It is amazing! Just be careful
you don't go too crazy with it because you could have a bald dog. Haha! I
really was able to get her summer coat out last fall so that her winter
coat could come through and I had such a better fall shedding time than
what I would have had otherwise. I got it in amazon. Good luck!
