Dan,

I had to do the same thing and used SS screws and nuts to hold the
control plates in place.  Even though the controls work better when
tight, they still do not operate smoothly.  I think I have not been able
to adequately lubricate them.  How did you do the lub?

Gentlemen,
My experience has been that the plastic bushings the levers rotate on can expand enough to cause binding. I suspect this is from incompatibility with the differing lubricants used. If you want a quick fix, and don't want to swap out the bushings, I've used a roll of emery cloth to slightly open the bore in the die cast housing. It doesn't take very much effort. It would be a good idea to find the recommended lube before putting in new bushings. Anyone know what it is?
