After getting positive feedback from a number of list members I have moved
ahead with establishing another listserv centered on the arts in Greater
Tacoma called: TacomaArt Scene.  The list will be discussion-oriented and
will have a web-based component where members can review (and participate)
discussion online instead of in email.  You can read about it
herehttp://tacomaartscene.com/ As
you will see I have also built a website, Tacoma Art
Scenehttp://tacomaartscene.com/that will be an additional resource
and will be the place to easily find the
list.  If you know anyone that might be interested in joining send them to
the website.

Why Another List?
This list is* for discussion *and to promote the exchange of ideas and
perhaps better support networking.  In this time of diminishing resources
and dwindling opportunities in the arts we need to
work together more than
ever
to keep the arts alive and thriving in Tacoma.  I know some of you
have told me that you don't want to be bothered dealing with more email.  I
understand and appreciate that perspective.  The list does offer web-only
and digest options so you can participate without getting email sent.  I
would strongly suggest that you participate by email at least at the
beginning.  It is kinda hard to have a discussion if everyone is in a
read-only mode.  It is up to you.

More Detail About the List
The list is built using Google Groups.  You must create an account before
joining in.  This does not require that you create a GMAIL account, you
will use your current email address for the list.  The user account is so
that you have a login to view the list online and have access to setting
your member options.  If you have a GMAIL account register with that
account.  Both options are easy.

Hope to see you on the list.
