Hi all, What about the 79th st Boat Basin moorings? I am going to a Pete
Seeger concert 5/3 and intend to be on the moorings at the Boat Basin 5/1 for
a few days.

I have a hard chined, keeled, low windage with mooring/anchoring flopper
stoppers. I here there are wakes? The facility has a dingy dock/security--its
a park and its spring time. Sounds like a deal to me--

Too good to be true--the Clearwater sloop will be there as well---The Admiral
will be aboard.

Kevin Kearney/JOLIE/Baltimore 9 daysish to departure.

Kevin, I happen to like the 79th Street boat basin moorings.  They are
$30/day, buy 6 and get 1 free.  Six years ago, they were $15/day, buy 5 and
get 2 free!  Ah, inflation.

Yes, there is some rocking from passing boats, and yes, the current rips
through there, making getting on and off the dinghy a wee bit of a
challenge.

BUT, at the top of the hill are two stores to die for.  The first and my
favorite, is Zabars, which is a deli with more cheese in one place than
could ever be thought possible.  The other, just across the street is H & H
bagels, the worlds best!!!

Then, you are close to Central park, a simple (and cheap!) bus ride to
almost anywhere, and a very safe neighborhood at any hour.

Tommy
