12/14/24 Hamburg Cove, Lyme CT. This afternoon in the small waterway between Rte 156 and Hamburg Cove proper, I found a hen NORTHERN SHOVELER. Viewing from Cove Rd is much easier and safer than Rte 156. Unfortunately my birding time was cut short there so I did not have a chance to checkout other ducks nearby. I am on a CBC tomorrow elsewhere, but hopefully someone else can look around to see if there is a drake or any other shovelers or interesting species.
