We also have been having trouble. At first when we connected to our email
website and the email portion the phone would simply turn off completely and
we would have to take the battery out and put it back in then reconnect to
the computer. Now our laptop will not read the phone, but this is after 5
hours of tech support. They said it was the cable. It is not. Have new
cable does the same thing. We believe it is a virus that has infected the
laptop and certain email compoenents. Verizon does not have a clue.
We manage by doing different things which are probably all supersititious
behavior, but if we diddle enough we eventually manage to get our desk top
to work. We never have trouble getting on the inernet, just email.
So our desk top works at times and the laptop not at all for email at the
moment.

I am not using any laptop or cellphone combination but am having the same
kind of problem with my dial up link to the ISP being dropped. This may be
something more widespread and not limited to boaters using Verison cell
phones.
