We are excited to announce the opening of applications for the HBCU Library Alliance-CLIR Sponsorship Sub award! This funding opportunity empowers HBCU libraries, fostering innovation and resource enhancement. As a valued member, we encourage you to apply and take this chance to make a lasting impact on your institution's library services.
The Council on Library and Information Resources (CLIR) and The HBCU Library Alliance are dedicated to acknowledging and meeting the distinctive needs of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) libraries and archives. As part of our commitment to supporting these institutions, we are pleased to announce a sub-award program designed to empower HBCU libraries. This support from CLIR will enable us to support 4 projects up to $10,000.
Sub-award Program Details:
- Funding Limit: Projects can be funded up to $10,000.
- Eligibility: Open to HBCU Library Alliance member libraries, archives, and museums in good standing.
- Project Focus: Sub-awards can be utilized for a diverse range of initiatives, including but not limited to:
* Preservation: Ensuring the safeguarding of valuable resources and archival materials.
* Disaster Planning: Creating strategies to mitigate and respond to climate challenges.
* Conference Travel: Facilitating attendance at conferences to foster collaboration and learning.
* Scholarly Communication: Supporting student workers and library staff in pursuing education and research.
* Digitization: Promoting the digitization of resources for broader accessibility
Deadline for submissions: Monday, February 19, 2024
