From Steve Broker (Cheshire):
02/08/12 - Woodbridge, Konold's Pond (viewed from West Rock ridge top) -- 2 TRUMPETER SWANS (first reported on February 5) continue in the northeast portion of the pond. The birds were preening and resting (2:10-2:40 P.M.). This is the third year in succession for two Trumpeter Swans in Connecticut, with the 2010 sighting at Cranberry Pond, Stratford first reported on March 28 and the 2011 sighting at Konold's Pond reported on March 21.
Trumpeter Swans still present at 4:40. As a note, there are teal,
wigeon and wood duck decoys at the north end of the pond--might save
someone a little trouble :)
