War Veterans “Answering the Call” - Closing Artists Reception
Tacoma, WA, January 12, 2011 – “Answering the Call”, an exhibition of artwork created by current and former service members will have it’s Closing Artists Reception Sunday January 23, 2011 from 3-7pm at 906 Broadway, Tacoma, WA 98402. Mediums on display include sculpture, photography, painting and more.
The artists selected for this exhibit, answered the call quite literally when they went into military service, whether drafted or volunteer. They also answered our “call for artists” to share their artwork in coordination with The War Experience Project “inFORMATION” exhibition. Selected artists include Daniel Thomas, Patty France, Rodolfo “Bon” Morelos Jr., Gregory Fricker, Christian Hamilton, and Erick Schmidt.

Enjoy a Violin Performance by John Bartley 4:00 – 6:00 pm
John Bartley, veteran and violinist, plays a variety of styles, including classical, strolling violin, ethnic, and original music. His passionate playing always brings a frank, instinctive commitment to the performance. He founded Tacoma’s Music on Puget Sound (http://www.MusicOnPugetSound.com), an organization that provides live music for special occasions.
Veterans Sharing “inFORMATION”
Throughout the evening, “inFORMATION”, an exhibition of paintings – created by American military personnel, both current and former – on military camouflage uniforms as personal expression of their experiences, can be viewed throughout the gallery. Since our opening on November 11, 2011 (Veterans Day) 11 uniforms have been added to the exhibit. Come see these new and powerful additions. Refreshments will be served throughout the evening.
