As one who has just purchased a boat and one who also has a boat on the market, I expect my broker to submit all offers for me to consider. Although I selected the broker selling my boat for his knowledge of the market for the product and a track record of making deals, and value his input regarding the market, no broker should ever presume to know what's in my best interest.
IMHO, a good deal is when an educated and aware buyer and an educated and aware seller both feel they reached just a little farther than they had to -- and continue to feel that way over time.
Because brokers make there living doing every day what most boat owners do only rarely, they can be very valuable to a transaction. On the other hand, there are good people, with skill and integrity, and bad people who posses neither, in every human endeavor and it behooves a buyer or seller to tread cautiously and choose wisely.

I think the other side of the coin Judy, is if Brokers would "uniformly" stop
taking low Ball offers of clients who just want to "steal" product.
