All hands--
It's with a saddened heart that I must report on the death yesterday
of circumnavigator Jim Sink.
Jim and his wife, Susy, were the first to take a production powerboat
around the world, accomplishing the historic feat with Salvation II, a
Nordhavn 46, over the course of 50,446 nautical miles during 1990-95.
Jim died of complications from pneumonia. He was 80 and lived with
Susy in Dana Point, California, across the street from Pacific Asian
Enterprises, builders of Nordhavn.
I'd like to publish a page of tributes and anecdotes at Trawlers &
Trawlering about Jim to mark his passing from this world.
If Jim and Suzy had an impact on your life and dreams, or if you have
an anecdote to share about Jim, please click here <mailto:georgs@trawlersandtrawlering.com
to send it to me for publication. Thank you!
