Fox sparrow continues and is singing from dawn to dusk! What a treat!!! Have not had a singing male here for a few years.

On a sadder note. oh boy are the siskins getting hit. I am getting calls from all over the state and have seen wayyyy too many extremely sick birds come in and die. I currently have one right  now whose future is very uncertain but is going on the longest I have been able to keep one alive. Salmonella is very difficult to treat especially because the birds are so sick with symptoms and are reluctant to eat, and lose weight rapidly. I have also had some goldfinches as well.

To add to Dave's post (sorry I did not get back to you Dave) please make every attempt to catch the sick birds which I am willing to take so the spread can be slowed by that avenue as well.
