I am looking into the process for transferring unclaimed funds from a municipality .  Title 60 § 657  states that "Intangible property held for the owner by a court, state or other government, governmental subdivision or agency, public corporation, or public authority which remains unclaimed by the owner for more than one (1) year after becoming payable or distributable is presumed abandoned."  My city may have funds from utility deposit refunds, checks that were not cashed, etc. which would qualify as "unclaimed" under this statute.  Wondering if any of you have dealt with this issue in the past?
