American Diesel recommends straight Shell Rotella 40 wt for their Lehman
140's. I believe they still recommend straight 30 wt for the 135's.

Straight 40 is hard to find at a good price. I found it at Edison Oil near
Ft Myers, FL for $75.00 for 5 gallons. That's a lot better than about
$25.00-27.00 at West Marine. When we passed through Brunswick GA, I get
Mobile straight 40 for about #13.00 a gallon. Bob Smith does not like
Mobile as well as Shell, for some reason.

I can't remember the name of the fuel spot in Brunswick, but it's on Active
Captain. They fuel many commercial fishing boats and they say the
commercial guys like 40 wt.

If you need 40 wt, try an operator that caters to the commercial boats.

Bob Smith recommends straight 30 for colder climates, and straight 40 for
the warmer climates like the Gulf Coast for the 135 and 120. I can't
remember the temperature ranges, but it depends on where you are boating. I
use straight 40 Chevron Delo. The PO used Rotella, but it was too hard to
find in the Galveston Bay area, so switched to Delo; no problems. Oil
analysis always comes up great.
