Juncos

Has any one else had a marked increase in the number of juncos this winter?
I hadn't realized how many were around until this past storm when they were
everywhere, including trying to emulate the gold finches and siskins on
the platform-less hanging feeders (they were literally falling off).

Yes I had a ton of juncos this winter. All winter.  More than in past seasons and eating off of every feeder I have in addition to ground feeding
Alas no redpolls though despite many prayerful requests to the redpoll gods.

From Joanne Luppi

In 56 years of feeding birds here in Portland, I have never had as many juncos as this winter, nor as many house finches. However, bluejays have been just the opposite--only 2, sometimes 3 some mornings, and some days none at all!
