I always thought that Sea Otters worked near shore and dived for their food.
Yesterday, on Friday about 12 miles offshore and west of Point Buchon,
that's near Morro Bay, CA., sighted about 8 Sea Otters apparently fishing,
in 1200 feet of water.
Since it is bird migration time, we also had 2 Sand Pipers, a smaller bird
like a finch and a much larger spotted, brown and yellow thing use us as a
mobile landing site.
That's the most bird activity I have seen in several years and all one day.
Just when a fellow thinks he is going to be bored to death, along comes the
most interesting things to watch, besides grass growing.
This all occurred in pretty dense fog.
