We hope the conditions for next Saturday's Hudson River Distance Race (register here) will match what Sunday racers had yesterday afternoon. It was a spectacular afternoon, with strong steady wind, sunny skies, and mild temperatures (80s).

We had four racers sailing two non-spinnaker division races: Hee Soo, Pentimento, Sheba, and Zoom. 12:30 p.m. was not very promising, with a glassy Hudson. But by 1:30 p.m. the wind had come up, and blew steadily from the south at 10 - 15 kts. We sailed Course 12 twice, and offer thanks to RC led by John Sheehan.

The 2nd race was especially close with less than 60 seconds (corrected time) separating first from fourth.
