View all threadsUsing CollectionSpace 6.0 and trying to upload TIFFs in the Media Handling
procedure with differing results:
I usually get an error upon saving the record "Request failed with status
code 504". I unattach and reattach the TIFF to the record and try saving
again. Most of the time I get the same error, but there are a few times
when the record saves with the TIFF attached. When it saves successfully,
the thumbnail appears in the sidebar under Media and the smaller thumbnail
appears in the media handling record itself.
I can click either thumbnail to successfully open the image viewer, however
I get a different error in place of the image file "Unable to open [object
Object]: Error loading image at blob:..." The download button in the image
viewer still successfully downloads the original file.
None of these errors occur when I upload a JPEG. I can also successfully
upload a PDF and view it in the image viewer. How can I reliably save Media
Handling records with TIFFs and get that media blob to show up in the image
viewer?

Hi Benjamin,
Is the tiff one that you can share? If so, please send me a url or an attachment, and I'll see if I can reproduce your problem.
Thanks,
Ray

Hi Benjamin,
The problem with viewing the tiff is that neither Chrome nor Firefox support viewing tiffs in the browser (although Safari does, so you should be able to view your image there). I think what I'll do for the next release of the CSpace UI is that it will display the full-sized jpeg derivative instead, if the original is a tiff (or maybe just always); but the download button will still download the original.
I haven't been able to replicate the error on save. Do you have access to the server logs? It will be helpful to get the full error message.
