I'm not aware of the current situation at Dinner Key Marina, but in the past,
the waiting list to get a permanent slip was over five years. Of course, they
may have a higher percentage of transient slips now then in the past but you
will pay dearly for them.

Where do you wish to cruise while the boat is in South Florida? You might find
available dockage in the Upper Keys, since they have been hit hard by this
recession. Although there has not been a lot of price cutting for marina fees,
and they are going out of business pretty regularly, there is a higher vacancy
rate than in the past.

If you wish to cruise the Keys, then I suggest  you log on to the Florida Keys
"Keynoter" which has an extensive listing of public and private docks that are
available for lease.

You might do better if you decide to stay north or south of Miami. Try
contacting some of the marinas from Active Captain and pre-negotiate a slip
for this winter. Disregard all previous comments if money is no object and you
find what you want.
