Thanks for the information. We are about to leave for the south.

Went into T-Mobile and set it up. It is $50/2gb,  $65/6gb,  $80/10gb,
$95/unlimited.
Great deal and the same SIM card works everywhere.  Of course it is a U.S.
number so locals wiĺl incur expenses calling us.
