Currently advertised on Yachtworld is a 44' "Power Cat Sports Cat". It is a planing cat. It is apparently Australian built, but I have not been able to find out anything about the builder or about the designer. Power is Yanmar diesels and what appear to be Seafury surface drives (specific engine and drive models not known) . If it were closer I could look and likely find out more. Does anyone know anything about this vessel? Does this particular engine and drive application work in this vessel? At what minimum (economical) speed, with this power and drive combination, does this vessel plane satisfactorily? Does it plane easily? Some powercats work as advertised - some not so. Anyone know about this one?

Looks like a pretty good buy at that price, if it is in as nice of
condition as pics make it appear. Too bad its not on east coast to have a
look.
No pics of underbody, and no other details in listing??
Get a good survey, and do a comprehensive sea trial.

the boat appears to be the Australian "Powercat" brand, hull looks
like one of their 80's models with a one off deck. These had very low
wing deck clearance (you can see this in photo 3) and were infamous
for pounding.
Try contacting these guys, http://www.powercatmarine.com.au/ [1],
they may be able to provide further info
