We have Select Comfort mattress on our Island Queen bed. Marvelous. Wife
feels her morning backaches have been reduced 50%. (Previous mattresses were
high quality Sealy posterpedics.)
While we have all the air pimp gear, I haven't plumbed them into place. Our
sales rep assembled the mattress while we were enroute to pickup the boat
(bless him -- it had been a long day). Whatever pressure he had pumped into
it was fine with us. That was four-plus months ago, and we haven't 'topped
it off' or anything.
One unexpected plus. When Chris changes the bed linen, this mattress is very
light / easy for her to move; she actually just slides it aft (one hand) to
place the new sheets at the head of the bed. Etc., etc.

This equipment is only important if your FM doesn't bound energetically into
bed.
