PJSIP on Blackberry

Hi,
Is there any version of PJSIP stack that will run on Blackberry? I know there is a version of PJSIP for Symbian. Since both are Java compliant devices, wanted to know if there is a stack support on Blackberry. Since there is a product from Avaya for SIP on Blackberry, theoretically, SIP support must be there on the Blackberry even though I have read in the forums that JSR 180 corresponding to SIP is not available for Blackberry. Any leads on this would be  great help!!

Hi Vijay,

No, pjsip is not available on Blackberry as yet.

pjsip on Symbian is written in C/C++ not Java, so the fact that they are
both Java compliant is irrelevant.

Another factor is that the lack of wifi on many Blackberry devices, as
currently SIP over Wifi is much more usable (and allowed by operators!)

Hope this answer your query.

Hi,
Is there any restriction on the SIP protocol implementation for Blackberry? If I were to start writing a SIP stack for Blackberry (on Java or C++), I guess I should be able to implement, correct? Is there any protocol level restriction from Blackberry which will restrict this? I am asking this because there are not any SIP SDKs available for Blackberry.

Regards,
Vijay

Vijay,

I think this is a question best asked to Blackberry developer community.

You can't do full duplex audio on BlackBerry with J2ME MIDP 2.0 .

You can't do realtime packet processing on BlackBerry with J2ME MIDP 2.0 .
