Foreign Clearance Issues

I am interested in hearing stories from anyone with unusual experiences
regarding clearing in/out of US or other countries.

For instance, unexpected fines or required paperwork. Problems over
Proof of Duty paid as with a US citizen owning a foreign built boat for
which the duty and entry occurred many years(decades/owners ago and the
entry/duty papers can't be found. There are generally 3 separate
government agencies to deal with: Customs, Immigration and Agriculture.
I am interested in all 3.

Responses that would be of interest to the list go ahead and post on
line, otherwise send directly to me. I will re-post some of the more
interesting ones with the results of my research, perhaps in summary form.

Regards,
Mike
