I
haven't found a retailer here who sells the Sharp TM-20. Here is
Toronto, Canada - and if you can't get it here, you can't get it
anywhere (in Canada that is).

You might try the Ebay auction pages where new machines sell at a
hefty discount - often in the 35 to 40 dollar range -- even with shipping -
a pretty good deal .
Go to the Ebay site ( use your search engine ) -- Go to the Browse
button then in the search block provided simply type in Sharp TM 20 .
Watch the action for a few days to get a feel for what is going on
.... sure beats trying to find a dealer ... and at that price they are a
throw away ....

I think, I'm convinced. Now all I have to do is get one. PocketMail
has two toll free lines operating here in Canada but they want to
hear beeps and connect only (no voice to ask questions); and sofar I
haven't found a retailer here who sells the Sharp TM-20. Here is

anywhere (in Canada that is). I shall keep trying to find a dealer.
Sofar RadioShack, BusinessDepot and FutureShop have been negative.
Yes, I have looked at PocketMail's website and send them an e-mail
inquiry.

Call me stubborn and or oldfashioned or old and grumpy, but I refuse
to set myself up with web access for the sake of one item that I
later will use ONLY on e-mail. When I buy something, I like to walk
into a store, touch and feel the item, get a demo if possible and
walk out smiling, knowing that what I came in for is now in my hands,
ready to use. And yes, I'm willing to pay a bit extra for this if I
have to.....
Ciao - George, 64, retired and practising 'grouchiness' ;-)
I found tonight a couple of websites I'd recommend for learning about Palm
or PDA's more generically. I found a good description of the craze in Money
magazine and it is viewable on the website http://www.money.com/money/ The
info about PDA's is about halfway down the page. From that info I linked
off to the next website, which I have no experience with as a vendor. I
include it here because it will appeal to those who do like e-commerce sites
and/or don't have ready access to retail stores for comparative shopping.
The buy.com site has all brands and levels of sophostication of PDA's and
you'll find this interesting even if you don't purchase there. By the way,
this link is to the US site and there are other international options
available, just delete the US from the URL. http://www.us.buy.com/

I somehow missed the original message. I purchased a Sharp TM 20 and a
years pocketmail service in Kingston, Ontario from what is known as a
reseller. His name is Ron Miller. There may be others who are also
acting as resellers for pocketmail in your area. The best price I know
of is if your wife, friend or acquaintance is a member of Women Aboard.
They offer a Sharp TM 20 and a years Pocketmail service for $160 US.

Do you have an e-mail or phone number for this individual?
I am looking at $99 for the TM-20 and $100 for Pocketmail (U.S.)
unless I want to go the married route you suggested. But my single
state is worth the $40 to me. <Grin>
