Hello, All,
I'm attaching the agenda for Wednesday's meeting. The Zoom link is below and is also on the agenda.
I'm also attaching a draft contract for Amanda's work as our office assistant. Her 2020 contract expired in mid-January, so this is something of an emergency. The daft contract mirrors the 2020 one, with the position responsibilities and work hours reduced to reflect the new ED role. If possible, please review and send back any comments by COB tomorrow -- it would be preferable not to discuss Amanda's contract while she is taking notes for us in the board meeting. ;)

Thanks Deborah. My only question: Does Amanda also provide social media
support to the NCL Board/ED? If so, should you add that as a duty?

Good question Judy,
I would add, the there really isnât a lot that she needs to do to help with the membership letters. That could change if we launch a campaign to include affiliates, so it is okay to keep that duty. But could she help get the minutes out to us more quickly? Right now this says take minutes, not get the minutes out. It would really help to have them sooner than a couple days before our meetings because we make so many decisions and they are helpful reminders.

Social Media Policy:
COABE recognizes that many of its members, staff, contractors, and board
members use social media such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, and
Instagram, to name a few. Personal or professional social media use, posts,
and pages should reflect professional standards and should not interfere
with the work of COABE or reflect negatively on the organization, its
leadership, partners, funders, or membership. Some examples of negative
impact include:
Interferes with the work of those engaged with COABE.
Is used to harass or discriminate against others.
Creates a hostile environment for collaboration and partnerships.
Divulges confidential information about COABE or its members.
Harms the goodwill and reputation of COABE.
Does not abide by the COABE nondiscrimination policy.
Politically partisan or hostile/controversial images or statements that
might compromise COABEâs non-partisan policies.
COABE members, staff, and contractors agree to the following guidelines
when using social media. If you are uncertain about the appropriateness of
a social media post, check with the COABE CEO or an Executive Committee
member.
Do not post any comment or picture (original or augmented) involving a
member, volunteer, or client of COABE without their express consent.
Comments about COABE must clearly and conspicuously state that you are
posting in your individual capacity and that the views posted are yours
alone and do not represent the views of our organization.
Unless given written consent, you may not use COABEâs logo or any
organizational material in your posts.
Posts must comply with COABEâs nondiscrimination, confidentiality, and
disclosure of proprietary information policies. If you are unsure about the
nature of information you are considering posting, contact the COABE CEO or
an Executive Committee member.
Do not link to the organizationâs website or post any agency material on
a social media site without written permission from the CEO and/or the
Executive Committee.
You are responsible for what you write or present on social media.
Furthermore,
you understand that COABE is not responsible for any actions, legal or
otherwise, that might be placed upon you for your posts, likes, or other
actions on your social media account.
All organizational policies that regulate off-duty conduct apply to
social media activity including, but not limited to, policies related to
illegal harassment, code of conduct, nondiscrimination, and protecting
confidential and/or proprietary information.
