sunlight may be the controlling factor. The sunny side has all the heavy
growth.

That's certainly the case in our marina for algae and weed.  The side of
the boat that's in shade much of the day will have very little growth
(assuming the bottom paint is worn out) but the side that's in the sun
much of the day will have a great deal more growth in the same time
period.  Same is true for dock structures.  PVC water pipes n the water
on the sunny side build up an amazing amount of algae and weed where
pipes in the water on the shady side will have hardly any growth on
them.

We're fine.  We were on Bay Springs Lake during Dennis' passage, tied off to
trees in a tight little cove.  Though we could hear the wind howling on the
lake, our cove had only about 20 kts.  We're now on the TN River, should
make Huntsville, AL on Sunday.  We'll stop in tha marina there for a night
or two for and air-conditioning break, and to do some major boat cleaning.

Cell Phone coverage on the Tenn-Tom has been terrible on both Verizon and
Sprint.  Sometimes we can make calls, but have no internet access and cannot
retrieve voicemail (Verizon "Extended Coverage").  When we spot a major
highway bridge, we check coverage and quickly make a couple of calls before
the signal is lost.
