My 2 cents on customer profile/demographics which describes myself.  I became a serious customer for a passagemaker two years ago at age 60.  I retire soon at age 62 and will have an income of about $50K/yr.  I'm looking for an ocean crosser to be crewed by the captain and the admiral who are in good physical shape.  I have a lifetime of small boat experience in coastal waters and limited blue water experience.  I'm a retiring engineer with good DIY skills.

My initial priorities are under $500K cost, very seaworthy and safe, low maintenence, great fuel economy, simple robust systems, capable of extended time on the hook.  I don't care about appearance, speed, luxurious accomodations, highest technology, or get home engine.  Prevention beats out cure.

That said, I am currently building a 44'Diesel Duck.  I am very interested in this discussion topic.
