Mr. Faure, No matter what, the C. G. should not be doing 40 mph in an area
where they had to know a lot of boaters would be. It seems to me when a little
boy is killed it is ineptness and ignorance and all because a boat was sitting
on the ground. That automatically blames the USCG crew and yes it was
negligence. It's a sad way to start the New Year and I pray for that family.

Response:
How do we know the CG boat was doing 40 mph.
I have a suspicion that the personnel aboard the CG boat would not be talking to the press as that is the way in military and quasi military organizations.
If the press was reporting 40 mph; it must be from someone else and that would be a guestimate.
The point Marin was trying to make is that we should wait for the official report before "casting stones."
With that I agree.

As there is absolutely no way that the CG can not be to blame for this
then stalling placing that blame is ridiculous. Sorting out the penalty
takes longer. When will America and Americans actually take responsibility
for their actions both at home and abroad. Folks die you know!
