Hello SCLC Teen and Young Adult Services Interest Group Members,

I'm checking in with everyone who has joined this Interest Group listserv to offer a friendly reminder about the purpose of the group, how the listserv works, and how each of you can help make it a valuable resource for your colleagues.

The listserv is intended to be a collaborative space where staff from across SCLC member libraries can connect with peers, ask questions, share ideas and resources, discuss programs and services, and crowdsource solutions to common challenges. We hope this becomes a place where members feel comfortable sharing their knowledge, learning from one another, and building connections across the cooperative.

Using the Listserv
Participating is easy!

  • To start a discussion, send an email to teen-ya-services@lists.socallibraries.orgmailto:teen-ya-services@lists.socallibraries.org.  Your message will automatically be delivered to everyone subscribed to the list.
  • To reply to a discussion, simply use the Reply feature in your email, and your response will be shared with the group.
We encourage you to use the listserv whenever you have a question, resource, idea, or experience that may benefit others. Your participation is what will make this community valuable. If you have a question, a successful program to highlight, a challenge you're working through, or a resource that may help others, please consider sharing it with the group. Even a brief message can spark a helpful conversation and encourage others to join in.

As these are discussion groups rather than committees, there should be no regularly scheduled meetings. Please also take a moment to review the SCLC Interest Group Online Rules of Conducthttps://www.socallibraries.org/files/40e03733b/SCLC_Interest_Group_Listserv_Online_Rules_of_Conduct.pdf.

Thank you for being a part of this Interest Group.

If you have any questions about the listserv, please don't hesitate to reach out.

Warmly,

Nerissa Snodgrass
