Hello Tacoma arts community --
Have you ever needed legal help to deal with a landlord, work out a divorce, custody or child support issue, solve a business problem, get advice about debt, foreclosure or bankruptcy, draft a will, look over a contract or agreement, etc., but couldn't possibly afford to hire a lawyer to help you? Over the years volunteer attorneys working through the Tacoma-Pierce County Bar Association's Volunteer Legal Services Program have helped many members of our arts community with problems like these. The Volunteer Legal Services Program continues to be the best (and in most cases only) source in our community for pro bono advice and representation on all kinds of civil legal issues for our low-income population: seniors, victims of domestic violence, the unemployed, the homeless, veterans, the disabled, recent immigrants -- and artists.
Please consider making a donation -- any and all kinds of art, art-related services, lessons, opportunities, whatever you do -- to the Bar Foundation's 4th Annual Art for Equal Justice auction at the Tacoma Art Museum on Saturday, December 11, 2010. We like to keep our event local and value the support of the Tacoma-Pierce County arts community....a big plus this year, we are lucky to have the fabulous Laura Michalek as our auctioneer!
In addition to accepting full value donations, we offer artists a 50/50 split of the proceeds from sale at auction and will honor any reserve you choose to place on your work. All artists donating original work will receive 2 free tickets to the event -- it's great fun!
Your work or other donation will be seen online in our auction catalogue at www.tacomaprobono.org/art.html, with links to your website.
Please feel free to call (253.572.5134) or e-mail (vls@tacomaprobono.org) with questions or to receive a donation form.
Thank you for your support of Art for Equal Justice!
