i have enjoyed the thread about the water from the bilge pump sloshing back
from the hose when the pump shuts off because i used to think i was the only
one who couldnt figure out a way to stop this.if we sent a man to the moon
in 1969, cant someone figure out a pump system that is good to the last
drop?
i cant but i am sure that there is someone out there who has solved this
annoying problem.
(and i am not going to buy a dripless shaft in the near future)

Easy, Dual setup.
Diaphragm (ala PAR) pump in low area, ideal in a concentrating sump. Then a
LARGE capacity centrifugal pump mounted a bit higher. Idea is: Normal
de-watering tasks are taken care of by the PAR pump, I have a manual switch
on mine and can get all but the last 1/2" of water out. And all of that is
easly contained in the sump.
If the water rises to the level of the Big Boy, it can take over. I also
wire an alarm to the high water pump as well.
One note: make sure to put a screen on the inlet of the PAR pumps.
Anything small can interfere with them working. Easy to fix (just remove
the top and clean out the valves), but still a pain...
