Hello all,
Happy New Year!
2016 is going to be busy for me on many fronts, one of which is a discussion around KPIs for lawyers, prosecutors, risk managers and law clerks. This is being led by a new process of defending requests for new staff that requires me to show that everyone is working as effectively and efficiently as possible. Legal hasn't been through a LEAN review yet, but it is coming. Any help in this area would be much appreciated.
Also on the law office front, a commissioner at the City has advised that a Toronto law firm has "embraced" open concept for lawyers. We have always argued that the nature of our work has meant that lawyers need offices. The whole thing makes me a bit uncomfortable, but maybe there is merit to it?
Any feedback on these matters would be very much appreciated!
