12/25/13 - Rocky Hill, Rocky Hill Meadows -- adult ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK
(Dark Morph) seen in 1st field on the right via the ferry landing
access.  Possible second Rough-legged hawk seen a few minutes later by
the Motocross field.

From James Purcell:
12/25/13 - Fairfield, Penfield Reef -- 2:15 PM; male Barrow's
Goldeneye continues (along with several thousand scaup and a few
White-winged Scoters and Long-tailed Ducks).

From Paul Desjardins:
12/25/13 - Rocky Hill, Rocky Hill Meadows -- afternoon; light morph
Rough Legged Hawk just as you enter the meadows so there were at least
2 of them involved today.

12/25/13 - Stratford, Long Beach -- 2nd Cycle Iceland Gull continues
on jetty and beach at end of lot.
Boat Ramp -- Long-billed Dowitcher at water's edge by parking lot.
Snowy Owl first on fishing pier then a young woman walked right up the
pier and sat at a table causing the Snowy after a few minutes to fly
to the roof of the old marina building on Beacon Pt. Road until a GBH
flee to close and he went to the top of a utility pole.

12/25/13 - Sterling yard -- FOX SPARROW (2), YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKER
(1f).

12/25/13 - Old Lyme, Great Island -- 4:15 PM; SNOWY OWL at southeast
corner of Great Island on Osprey perch pole.

From Sophie Zyla with Jeff Ruhloff and Kirsten Perillo:
12/25/13 - Stratford, Long Beach -- Three snowy owls seen at the same
time just after sunset at Long Beach. Spectacular sunset directly
behind the snowy on the post! One sitting on a post, one flew up to it
and they both flew toward us and another flew in. One landed on the
beach in front of us and the other two flew off.  Also 2 Peregrine
Falcons on the jetty.

12/25/13 - Stonington, Stonington Point --  from 12:30 to 1:00;
Black-headed Gull actively feeding (ight in the middle of 40
Red-breasted Mergansers within 100 feet of the shore)

12/25/13 - Stonington, Barn Island -- 3:55 PM; Snowy Owl perched on
pole on Sandy Point beach. Viewed from Barn Island boat ramp. Scope
needed.
