BEST WISHES FOR A SAFE AND SUCCESSFUL EVENT...
... to all southbound Gators this weekend!
Persevere and prevail! as Coach Brian would often say. Katie and Keith are
certainly doing that in Arizona. Keep sending all of the good Gator vibes
that you can in their direction and let's keep praying for the positive
trend to continue!
As we approach the final few weeks of the year, many of us are resting up
and getting ready to take on 2023. But we do still have 10 event starts on
our club calendar through the end of 2022 and they are all good
challenges. The first four take place this weekend and early next week.
Regarding our weekend best wishes, as always, if you have ANY type of event
and are not included in this post, please post a comment so that we can
also send good Gator vibes your way.
Also, in case you haven't seen them, be sure to check out the Rehoboth
Beach Seashore Marathon Weekend 2022 album that now includes a couple of
hundred photos and some videos. And also check out the soon to be Oscar
nominated Stango film covering this year's RefrigaGator Swim.
Weekend Workouts: We have two workout options over the weekend; "yes" there
is actually an indoor swim activity this weekend, too...
• Saturday 12/10, 8:30am-10am: Zwift meetup. Note the later start time due
to the party happening on Friday night.
• Sunday 12/11, 11:15am-12:15pm, Spring Valley YMCA indoor lap pool:
Uncoached group swim workout. Participate and earn the Gators Pizza Club
"Hot Peppers Topping"!
Weekend Events: Here's where our athletes are racing down south, and, in
one case, extreme south; all will earn the Pizza Club "Double Cheese
Topping"...
Saturday, December 10:
• Spartan Central Florida (Lake Placid, FL): Jon Crosby has had a
phenomenal year landing on the podium event after event. And on multiple
occasions he has done back to back races and this is yet another of those
challenges. On Saturday, Jon will be in the other Lake Placid participating
in the Spartan "Beast" event that includes a half marathon of running with
30 obstacles encountered along the way. Go Jon, beat the Beast, you are the
Beast!
Sunday, December 11:
• IRONMAN 70.3 Florida (Haines City, FL): Sean Lodge completes a stellar
year at the final 2022 IRONMAN event. Along the way he'll swim in Lake Eva
and ride and run through orange groves. Go Sean!
• Spartan Central Florida (Lake Placid, FL): Jon Crosby finally calls it a
year by participating in the Spartan "Ultra" event that includes 10K of
running with 25 obstacles on the way to the finish line. I'm tired just
typing this! Go Jon, what a ride!
Tuesday, December 13:
• Antarctic Ice Marathon (South Pole): Wow! Jens Sydor takes on the
ultimate challenge by running in the southernmost marathon on the planet
and thereby significantly breaking the club record for southernmost event
completed (I think it was Key West). Jens had planned to run the North
Pole Marathon, but when that was canceled a couple of times he decided to
go to the other end of the planet and take on this one. Brian was also
scheduled to run this race. So Jens will be running for both Brian and
himself. 💚 Go Jens, Brian will be with you!
Gator Done, have fun, then drink a beer! 💚BK🍺
💙HOpe💙
