BirdCast, developed by the Cornell Lab, predicts and documents movements of birds detected on radar.  The Fall season has been active for a while now and the radars are lighting up tonight, with millions of birds on the move. To see the radar maps, follow this link:

https://birdcast.info/migration-tools/live-migration-maps/

BirdCast also offers a dashboard for each state, down to the county level. You can see each morning how much activity there was the night before:

https://dashboard.birdcast.info/region/US-CT

The dashboard also uses eBird to show expected species based on historical sightings data.

These tools are very useful for deciding when to go birding…and tomorrow looks like it would be a great day to get out!
