Consistent with our experience using the PML Listserv, and our observations in connection with the listserv utilized by the county solicitors, we'd suggest the following:
Generally. Please note that this forum is one in which "Reply to All" is strongly encouraged. We all benefit from the comments of colleagues. The reply to pmlsolicitors@lists.imla.orgmailto:pmlsolicitors@lists.imla.org (the equivalent of "Reply to All") gives everyone the benefit of the collective knowledge of our group. It's kind of like crowd sourcing.
When the responses are to be confidential. On the other hand, there are times when the responses should be confidential. The best way to accomplish that is to provide an email address and request that responses go only to that email.
When the inquiry needs to be confidential. There are also times when the inquiry itself needs to be confidential. Feel free to send me an email directly with the request that in be forwarded to the listserv group on a blind basis. I'll be happy to oblige.
