November 27, 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m. and 1:30-4 p.m.
Cost: $36 per house, member price $33 per house
Create a gingerbread house in a festive holiday setting at the Hotel
Murano's Bicentennial Pavilion. The annual Gingerbread Jamboree features
candy buffets and lots of frosting! Build a house as a family or
individually. This event is an essential holiday tradition for any Puget
Sound family.

The We Play! Piggy Bank Brigade is a kid-led effort to help raise money
for the new Children’s Museum of

. This drive will help to support the new Museum’s Pay As You

program.
Every kid who turns in a full piggy bank (64 oz. or larger bottle filled
with coins) will get to play at the Museum in December before it opens to
the public. That means that you can see it first!

You can pick up or turn in a full bank at the Children’s Museum of Tacoma at
any participating *KeyBank

*Zing! The Power of Play *
Now through late 2011
Zing! The Power of Play features an ever-changing spectrum of activities
and props that children can explore, combine and manipulate to create their
own open-ended learning experiences. Come discover seasonal surprises as we
sprinkle the exhibit with new goodies throughout the fall months.
SHINE! Experiment with light and shadows; mix colors and textures; and
explore translucent, opaque and transparent properties!
ACTION! Take center stage in a theater filled with costumes, lights and
props that are constantly changing and encourage creative play.
TADA! Build your own monuments and structures using the popular Imagination
Playground building blocks.
WHOOSH! Watch as foam balls race up a tube, gaining momentum to speed down a
track. Move the track pieces yourself and experience the joy of cause and
effect.
*ONGOING FUN
*Wee Ones Weekly *
Every Tuesday and Wednesday, 9:30 – 11 a.m.
Cost: $7 per family plus the cost of admission or membership. Members can
purchase a six-session punch card for $35.
WOW is back! Drop in and enjoy thematic, informative, and musical programs
for toddlers, preschoolers and their grown-ups. Come practice social skills
and interaction with others, on one or both days, with activities and music
around a common theme.

First Friday of every month

Children, their families, grandparents and caregivers are invited to come
play at the Children's Museum of Tacoma free of admission. Free Fridays is
sponsored by KeyBank.

Join our Play Guides and friends for bubble time at 11 a.m. when we blow,
burst and dance with bubbles in the Museum.

*Spin a spider’s web, make a ghost to glide in the breeze, or create a
variety of slightly spooky, never scary, and always fun decorations. Wear
your costume all week for a bit of non-edible loot.
OTHER PROGRAMS
*Parent’s Night Out *
*October 21 from 6 – 9:30 p.m. *
*Cost: $25 per child, $10 for each additional sibling *
Parents take the night off while children play games, make art projects and
experience the power of play in this special drop off program. Pizza and
snacks provided. Ages 3-10.
All parents who drop off kids will receive a coupon for a free appetizer of
their choice at Doyle’s Public House, located at 208 St. Helens Ave - only
one mile away from the Museum. Doyle’s is open to individuals 21 years and
older.
