I saw an American White Pelican at 16:15 today (Monday) in Cootes Paradise. (Probably a juvenile, but seen from rather far with no scope.) Two white egrets, presumably Greats, were perched in a tree beyond (north of) the pelican, who was standing on a log by a large cattail stand along the north shore. The birds were seen from the South Shore Trail, about 400-500 m east of the Chegwin Trail entrance (which is just north of the McMaster University football field)... hence several hundred m west of Princess Point. happy fall birding, Martin Daly
